CARAMELISED ONION & PHILLY TARTS
Enjoy these delicious Caramelised Onion & Philly tarts with your family.
for 3-4 servings
1/4 cup olive oil
60g butter, chopped
1kg large brown onions (approximately 6)
½ cup brown sugar
1/4 cup balsamic glaze
2 sheets ready rolled puff pastry
125g PHILADELPHIA Block Cream Cheese, broken into small pieces
2/3 cup Kalamata olives, pitted and halved
1 bunch thyme
Olive oil spray
HEAT the oil and add butter In a heavy based pan. Add the onions and sugar and cook. Stirring occasionally for 8 minutes or until soft and sugar has dissolved.
Reduce heat to medium. Add the glaze and continue cooking for 20 minutes or until onions are deep golden in colour. Set aside to cool.
CUT each sheet of pastry in half then cut 5 x 5 cm wide rectangles from each half to make 20 strips.
Place each onto a greased oven tray. Top with onion, PHILLY, olives and thyme sprigs.
Spray with oil then bake in a hot oven 200°c for 15-20 minutes or until pastry is puffed and golden. Serve immediately.
