PENNE PASTA WITH BACON & TOMATO SAUCE

An easy to make recipe which will please everyone, combine crispy bacon with simple flavours to make a dinner time hit.

INGREDIENTS

for 4 servings
8 slices of bacon, chopped
1 onion, finely chopped
8 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
450g pasta sauce
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, rosemary or oregano
A sprinkle or two of sea salt and freshly grated pepper
450g of penne pasta

PREPARATION

In a large saucepan, add in chopped bacon and a splash of water over medium to high heat

Cook until the bacon begins to brown and the water starts to evaporate

Drain away most of the fat, but leave just enough to sauté the vegetables

Add the onion and garlic and cook until they soften

Pour in the pasta sauce, then sprinkle in the herb of your choice and season with salt and pepper

Simmer for another 20 minutes

Cook penne in lots of boiling salted water, then combine with the sauce
